Virtual Yasawa Island

This was a research project for the School of Management at Victoria University of Wellington. The project looked into reproducing the Fijian island of Yasawa in virtual reality as part of a conservation project. Player could walk around a recreation of the island in virtual reality, interacting with video sphere to see a 360 degree video taken at the very spot where they interacted with the video sphere. The video shows the landmark and the native population telling the player about their story, their history, and their culture.

Technical Implementations

I was brought onto the project for a month to improve an existing codebase. Development was done in Unity for HTC Vive headsets.
